The governor's office in Little Rock, Arkansas was set back behind a stairway in an obscure corner of the Capitol building that a less creative designer might have set aside as a supply closet or a janitors' smoking lounge . . . Love letters should be placed on the endangered species list. They are quickly vanishing from the earth, along with the snow leopard and the spotted owl. Technology has crept forward like urban sprawl, destroying the terrain that these letters once inhabited . . .
It's just another story from the trenches of downsizing, but it does have a twist. . . |
